Weekend Short Report…

Just when southern tier rivers were getting in great shape, this:

Here it comes...

Here it comes...

It figures; after 12 days straight with no rain, a record we haven’t broken since April 2008, oh by the way, a Low pressure system parks on our doorstep, destined to rain on our parade.  The Tioughnioga, Chenango, and Chemung are clear, cool, and wadeable – behaving as rivers should in the early fall.  The Susquehanna, which has eluded the fly all summer, is finally also settling down.  The West Branch is running a nice 600 cfs.

We’re expecting rain today – a half an inch of the stuff and another quarter inch tonight.  Tomorrow, it looks like the rain will be tailing off.  Sunday’s weather should be decent.  Suggestions; get out and fish while the rivers are good.  The West Branch is a safe haven, PROVIDED the ever-evil river master doesn’t decide to release.

Go get wet – tight lines…
